Trafalgar
Adapted from a brilliant, exhaustively researched screenplay by celebrated Nelson expert, Alex Naylor, Trafalgar follows the parallel storylines of Admiral Horatio Nelson and one of his loyal seaman, Henry Flight. The story takes us from England to Egypt, France, Italy and the Caribbean, culminating at one of the greatest naval engagements in history. In 1805, an outnumbered Royal Navy battle fleet defeated the combined French and Spanish navies off the coast of Spain. This was a defining moment – it effectively ended Napoleon’s chances of invading England; it demonstrated a new way of fighting at sea as a result of Nelson’s innovative tactics and it opened up the world’s seas to Royal Navy dominance.
